Two Year Old Toddler Program

The toddler program reflects the importance of experiences during the first years of life. Our curriculum strongly supports the development of critical social and self-regulatory skills for our littlest ones. We provide the very best of loving care in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Teachers work on language and social skills, expressing feelings, listening to and sharing with others. Teachers also incorporate early literacy, math, and science skills into play activities. Children are introduced to who God is, what the Bible is and how to pray.

Children must be 2 by December 31st and do not need to be toilet trained.

A Typical Day in the Two Year Old Program

Children start their day by playing on our beautiful playground or in our big room. The teachers then have their first circle time where the children sing songs, talk about the season and weather, and explore shapes, numbers and letters. After snack time, which is served family style, the children have free choice to play in the dramatic play area, block area, puzzles, and library area. Children also complete art projects during this time. The second circle time is where the lesson of the day is taught or a book is read, based on the weekly theme. Following this circle time, half day children are dismissed.

In the afternoon, two-year-old children have song and movement time. They eat lunch in the classroom, which is provided by the school. After lunch, the children nap in a relaxed environment with dimmed lighting and soothing music. After napping they have a snack and get ready for dismissal.

In our 2’s program students begin to role play real world scenarios. This form of play encourages sharing, turn taking and cooperation.

Our structured classrooms and focus on learning through play teaches children to trust their teachers. 2’s very quickly learn what their school day is going to be like. We play, we create, we learn and we have fun!

Vocabulary growth is a focus and children are nurtured to communicate, which helps children build confidence to make new friends and try new things.
